The Mayor of Yokohama off from public duties “unusually long” for the persistent illness

Yokohama city Mayor, Hayashi Fumiko has been taking the unusually long days off from the public duties this April.

 

After visiting Europe in the beginning of April, she took a day off on 11th to postpone the planned regular press conference.

Took another day off on 17th to postpone another public duty, and has been off since 22nd again.

 

The secretarial section announced the Mayor caught the persistent cold.

Après son voyage en Europe au début du mois d’avril, elle s’est retirée le 11 en repoussant la conférence de presse habituelle.
Elle a pris un autre jour le 17 en repoussant une autre obligation médiatique et elle s’est retirée à nouveau depuis le 22.

La section de son secrétariat a déclaré que la maire a attrapé une grippe persistante.

Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
