Tepco practiced the disaster drill for emergency of reactor4 pool fuel removal. They were stating the fuel won’t reach the critical state or affect the outside of the plant area.

They are going to start the fuel removal of reactor4 pool from next week.

The disaster drill was practiced from 10/25/2013.

I reject the international mass media to read this site without taking a contact with me.I know some of the mass media corporations read Fukushima Diary to understand the trend so they know when to report about Fukushima as if they were independently following it for a long time.

In short, they make you individual readers pay for this site while they pay nothing, and when they publish the “authorized news”, you pay for the “secondhand news”, which is nothing new for us.

This site is free for the individual readers, but not for corporations. In the world, this site is nearly the only source about Fukushima. I came here alone without any supporting organizations, background or anything. I’m not pleased to be exploited by the corporations that didn’t even properly report about Fukushima when 311 took place.

I demand them to take a contact with me BEFORE reading this site whatever the purpose is.

  1. That was not a “disaster drill”. A disaster drill would involve distributing iodine vitamin C to about 25 million people, evacuating all the central government and their families to Singapore or Malaysia, helping 25 million people to seal all their windows and doors for at least 2 weeks and provide them with uncontaminated food and water, prepare funds to compensate for the evacuation of US and Canadian citizens who will also be affected. Then there is the coordinated evacuation of Tokyo and effected areas, and the mass panic, and prevention of looting etc.
OR…the “disaster drill” is about blocking out any news, falsifying readings, and well, you know, the usual things they do so well?

  2. Without the use of boron, the removal will be disastrous. The sediment, particulate matter from falling concrete, malformation and wear from explosions will make removal unsafe.

  3. Subtantially all the I-131 produced before 311 is long-gone, by half-life of 8 days. Any radioactive Iodine present in, beneath or near the Fukushima Nuclear Power Station is due to some undisclosed, but ongoing fissioning. Any NEW radio-iodine PRODUCED on the site would be due to some new (or at least previously undisclosed) fissioning event, such as a stray-criticality or prompt-criticality.

Such a new criticality COULD most certainly occur, if certain kinds of accidents occur in SPF-4. It could also occur, at ANY TIME in the reactors and/or Spent Fuel Pools in or beneath the heavily damaged FDU-1, FDU-2, FDU-3 facilities and/or the lesser damaged FDU-5 & FDU-6.

The Reactor CORIUM locations and/or Spent Fuel conditions/locations for FDU-1, FDU-2 and/or FDU-3 have not been reliably disclosed. One or more stray fissioning events: may have occured, be ongoing and/or begin at any time, at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station.

    Sincerely,

    Bill Duff

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
