Sr-90 density increased over 2.5 times in groundwater beside Reactor 2

On 10/30/2015, Tepco announced the Strontium-90 density reached the highest level at one of the observation wells beside Reactor 2.

The sample groundwater was collected at the observation well called “No.1”, which is situated between Reactor 2 and the sea.

The previous highest reading was 2,800,000 Bq/m3 of 8/3/2015, but it increased to 7,100,000 Bq/m3 on 10/1/2015.

The well is beside the pump to collect overflowing groundwater. There is a possibility that increased Sr-90 was gathered in this pump area to be detected.

L’échantillon d’eau souterraine provient du puits labellisé  “No.1” qui est situé entre le réacteur 2 et la mer.
Le record précédent du 3 août 2015 était de 2 800 000 (2,8 millions de) Bq/m³ et il est passé à 7 100 000 (7,1 millions de) Bq/m³ le 1er octobre 2015.
Le puits est à côté de la pompe qui retire les eaux souterraines débordante. Pour que cette détection ait été possible, le Sr-90 a pu se concentrer autour de la zone de cette pompe.

Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
