[Reactor3] Underwater video, “Two steel beams were found in the pool”

On 9/22/2012, Tepco dropped 7m of the steel beam into SFP3. (cf. Rainwater flows into SFP of reactor3)

On 9/25, Tepco released 3 videos taken by the underwater camera.

They found one steel beam on the bottom of the pool on 9/24, and found another one on 9/25, where was about 2m from the first one.

The pool is about 11.5m deep. Tepco states they didn’t find any damage on the fuel assemblies.

Le 22 septembre 2012, Tepco a laissé tomber une poutrelle d’acier dans la SFP3 (= piscine des combustibles usagés du réacteur 3). (cf. L’eau de pluie tombe dans la SFP du réacteur 3)

Le 25 septembre, Tepco publie 3 vidéos prises par la caméra sous-marine.

Ils ont trouvé un poutrelle au fond de la piscine le 24 septembre et une autre le 25, à environ 2 m de la première.

La piscine fait environ 11,5 m de profondeur. Tepco affirme qu’il n’ont noté aucun dégât sur les assemblages de combustibles.

Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
