[Notice] The victimized Japanese made the media corporation to take revenge against media blackout

In the first few days after 311, I lost a lot of my old friends just because I said the government was lying. They thought (wanted to think) I was lying. Even though it’s become clear that the government was / is lying, they never come back.

This is what a lot of people went through after 311. As one of these people, I always tried to be a lighthouse for them.
People left Fukushima, people left Tokyo, and people left Japan, they are all going through the drastic change of their lives. Staying in Japan is desperate, but it’s also challenging to move on.
I’ve been trying to inspire them by showing me living well, sharpening my claws, and having some influence over the media.

I always wanted to be a symbol of resistance against the nuclear industry, not surrender.

All the media have their background. They can’t report something to potentially cause damage for their sponsors. Even some experts have been corrupted to change their stance since 311. I was nobody, and still I am.

Fukushima Diary started from a breakdown. The former blog I was given had a serious attack immediately after my first post and got down. However, since the very first post, it has never changed the stance. It’s been telling people to get out, it’s been always against media blackout. It has never compromised.

It’s not even sponsored by google ads. It doesn’t even have a sponsorship from a certain energy-related corporation or political organization. It’s been solely supported by donation of individual readers.

Now Fukushima Diary has become a media news company. This is the only news broadcasting company in the world to stand genuinely against all the nuclear related media blackout.
You may think why it’s not NPO.
If it’s an NPO, it’s more difficult to employ Japanese people and it has more legal restrictions in EU. Also, I wanted to fight in the same ring as most of the media companies and power companies. Including all the cost such as tenant, lawyers, translators and transporting, it wasn’t cheap for me. If I had no donation, it would have been completely impossible. That is why I was asking for donation. I couldn’t announce details of the plan for potential disturbance. Some people called me a parasite or a whinny beggar but I kept calm for this moment.

The lighthouse is extended. When I left Japan, I had only a laptop and 70,000 JPY. People told me I was going to die on the street even if I escape from radiation. Still, I’m not dead and more than that. Now Fukushima Diary is almost the only source about Fukushima, written by a victim, in English. It’s not only for the people outside of Japan, but also for Japanese themselves. They can think they are not forgotten, they are connected to the world through Fukushima Diary. We can think we are not the victims. We are the tellers and explorers.
I want them and all the anti-nuke organizations to see Fukushima Diary never break down and keeps growing in spite of all the attacks, disturbance and the shortage of all kinds of the resources & skills. I want to say, “Serves you right” to the media.

Even if it’s genuinely anti-nuke, it can be a corporation and living.

It is not only to cheer up Japanese. I hope to grow the anti-nuke sector to be an industry as powerful as nuclear industry.
Industrialization has dark sides. However, if people get to know being anti-nuke is as profitable as being involved in nuclear industry, we could meltdown their industry. It could be an incentive for nuclear workers leave the plant. They would be good whistleblowers and journalists like they did for Fairewinds.
This is how I fight.

Anti-nuclear activists, those who are concerned about Fukushima situation, everyone who feels like “the truth” is dominated. Follow me.

  1. Hello,
just made a small donation to keep this news page up.
Keep up your great work, this world needs peaceful warriors like you!
    THANK YOU

  2. I’m shocked that you had to lose friends when telling the truth, even though you’re Japanese. It happened to me too, but I’m a foreigner. Friends kept telling me they trust the government and that “internet is the world of lies” and that “the Americans are happy that Japan is suffering” and other crap. It was the first time that it dawned on me so hard…how close-minded some people can be. It was a major cultural shock, after the whole disaster shock..I’m sorry you had to go through all this. I suffered a lot too, but you had to forsake your own country. Always supporting you.

    1. “the Americans are happy that Japan is suffering”

What kind of person enjoys seeing another person suffer? The ones who say things like this. That’s sick. How could anyone possibly believe these
things? People are people. We feel the same feelings regardless of our
      nationalities.

  3. All of my life I have believed in the power of the truth. This has cost me friends and made me the target of much derision. It has only made me stronger. I am no better or worse than those who have verbally attacked me, just puzzled by their unwillingness to see reality. We have a common cause. It is simply the truth. We will never be able to make others see the truth if they refuse to do so. We can bring light to those with eyes who are willing to see. Let us carry on. Let us continue to fight the good fight.

  4. i lose friends every day here in the US for daring to suggest that our government is lying to us…about everything!

    i feel for you.

  5. I left America in 2003 and told my friends that the war was criminal, unjust and would destroy everything good about the US. They all wanted and still want to lynch me. Was I correct? You decide. I am still out of the country and still telling the truth. Hang tough and stay strong my brother. 連帯

  6. Iori , I asked you before and I am asking you again to , please , provide the videos in such a format as not to requier to turn on Active/Java Scripting which opens the ‘door’ to a computer security .

Here is an example of a Fukushima news provider , EX-SKF that Protects his readers from the toxic Scripting :

    ex-skf.blogspot.ca/

Take a look at the detailed analysis provided , something that you , an engineer , should be able to match .

BTW , is 4 Bq/m3 a LOT , a LITTLE , or is door # 3 ? Do you have on your website a permanent link to a list explaining ‘normal’ values for a range of measuraments formats ? Don’t answer ‘no’ !

    ” Follow me ” :

    – only legislators change the Law
    – in the last election 62.7 % of the Japanese voters put in the office Abe and a nuke-friendly government
    – HOW , Iori , are you convincing those 62.7 %ers when you don’t even provided ‘normal’ values for the measurements posted so the readers can have a Sense of what is going on ?

Conclusion : Iori , when you will Apply for a Legislator Position , Prime Minister , and register for the next elections in Japan you will be able to count your followers . But none of us , the english non-Japanese , can help you or Japan with Votes !! So what are we Following ? A ( nobel ) dream without Legislative Powers ?

    1) your website Must SHINE like none available on the Net , to also provide an easy understanding of what is going on , including explanations and explained diagrams ( see EX-SKF ) . Your Mandate is to have any of those 62.7 %ers EASILY understand the situation and Hopefuly Crap in their pants as a result and RUN to vote for you as in point 2 :

    2) you need to run in the next Japanese Elections against those present 62.7 %ers unless your Website reduces their numbers considerably . Only than you can have a chance to change the Law and say Meaningfuly during the election campaign ” Follow me ! ” …

    Good luck !

    1. Jay for Mayor of Wako.
One person’s clean up is another person’s revolution.
      Opinions are useless without action.
Please send Iori whatever help you think he needs to get this website running as best it can with the best protection.
The rest of us will send money and good wishes. Safe travelling.
      Doing democracy in Australia.
      Cheers Helen

    2. 4 BQ/M3 is not a lot objectively, but it’s a lot compared to background.

if you look at things like PU-239 or U-238, that should be a lot closer to 0.003bq/M3
and if you look at I-131 or CS-134 those should be very low.

Now thinks like K-40, sure, that’s much more common to background, so, you need to know
what you see and what the normal backgrounds are.

  7. Latest Message to Humanity by the Other World:
WE HAVE WELL SEEN that LIFE IS BEING MENACED. FUKUSHIMA IS EXTREME DANGER.
GIVEN that SOON OTHER BIG EARTHQUAKES WILL HAPPEN, WE RECOMMEND VERY MUCH TO INCREASE CONSUMPTION of SEA SALT.
MENACE OF IMMENSE NUCLEAR CATASTROPHE TO BE FEARED.

GREAT SUFFERING TO COME. NUCLEAR WILL KILL MEN.
EFFECTS OF NUCLEAR CATASTROPHE : NEXT GENERATION WILL EXPERIENCE VERY MUCH BIG HEALTH PROBLEMS. BETTER AVOID MAKING CHILDREN.
MEN MUST COMPREHEND BIG EFFECT of FUKUSHIMA ON HEALTH.
    MEN IGNORE FUKUSHIMA.

FACING VERY BIG RISK OF EXTINCTION OF HUMANITY AND LIFE ON EARTH,
WE ARE TRYING TO TRANSMIT WARNINGS TO MEN.
MEN IGNORE EXTREME DANGER. MEN’S IGNORANCE WILL CAUSE GREAT SUFFERING. MEN WILL UNDERSTAND LATER TRUTH OF DIVINE WORDS.

  8. Please take notice of latest Divine Message got April 19, 2013 :

    FUKUSHIMA VERY GREAT DANGER.

MENACE of COLLAPSE of REACTOR 4 BY OTHER EARTHQUAKE.

WE (= the Souls) VERY MUCH WORRIED.

FUKUSHIMA IS BECOMING an EXTREME DANGER.

    JAPAN WILL EXPERIENCE DRAMATIC CONSEQUENCES.

WE WOULD LIKE OUR WORDS FINALLY BEING BELIEVED IN.

    MEN IGNORE FUKUSHIMA.

MEN VERY MUCH PREOCCUPIED BY ECONOMY, BUT LIFE IS IN DANGER.

WE WANT OUR WORDS TO BE GREATLY BELIEVED IN.

WE ARE ADVISING MEN TO PRAY ST JESUS AND ST JESUS WILL HEAR THOUSAND PRAYERS.

  9. The friends you have lost will either find you again soon when they realize the severity of the issue or they will die from lack of education. It is unfortunate but it’s the truth.
Cathy I appreciate your urgency but there is no need to scream. Iori created this place as a safe space to receive critical information.
If you want to vent please go back over to Enenews.
Also, Cathy if you are truly Christian then you shouldn’t be worried. Accept what you cannot change and let God handle the rest.
This is nothing short of a catastrophe and the world will know very shortly when Spring allergies become untreatable and lead to more serious diagnoses, there is a marked increase in heart attacks, thyroid conditions, and miscarriages.
Fukushima is quickly destroying the immune systems of the citizens.

    1. An old story by now, yet a very apt one.
      http://enenews.com/germany-producing-too-much-power-after-turning-off-nuclear-reactors-experts-warn-gas-driven-plants-are-shutting-down-wind-solar-hydro-are-too-cheap
I like the story about the windfarm offshore Japan when the Mega Disasters started that remained reletively uneffected.
      http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/03/19/958072/-Wind-Turbines-Survive-Earthquake-and-Tsunami-in-Japan

Every Nuke-Puke Plant should have their very own installation. By Law.

That way when your generators are flooded there exists a unique form of backup power. The switching gear is another matter, of course. Maybe they should make “jumper cable” posts mandatory.

My thinking is though that they all belong on the moon, and only the moon. 🙂

      1. “The largest wind farm operator in Japan, Eurus Energy with about 22% of all wind turbines in Japan, is a subsidiary of Tokyo Electric Company (TEPCO) which operates the Fukushima nuclear facility.”
        . quoted from: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/kelly-rigg/battleproof-wind-farms-su_b_837172.html

Wind power produces infrasound pollution downstream causing much suffering for a minority of people. At least those effects stop soon after you “pull the plug”, unlike nuke & it’s puke.

  10. Mr. Mochizuki

As usual, a good column. Thank you. You are right to remain independent, as now news comes out about the hidden ties of Sierra Club, Greenpeace etc. to energy industries. Your thoughts of starting an Anti-nuke industry are cogent, yet I will point out: There are limits to how far you can go as an “Anti- ” something article. To grow strongly you may have to refer to yourself as a “Pro- ” something article.

Balancing the anti-nuke news with pro-renewable discoveries may be helpful. For example: wave power generators that simultaneously desalinate water; solar cell film you can paint on; businesses located underground, requiring almost 0 heating/cooling energy; and on and on; all true.
The argument is always: Why gamble on nuclear when renewable is 99% safe?

You may wish to dissuade nuclear workers from the plant. We’ve all been crying havoc for the plant, but now we need a plan: what to do if all the workers are in fact gone? What do you suggest? I suggest a permanent, earthquake proof cooling system that recirculates the water as much as possible without attempting to process it (the main thing is to minimize leakage). The threat of an empty plant is very real, and Tepco will likely just pack up and move away, leaving garden hoses to cool the spent fuel pools. We need ideas.

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
