Truth is not truth because everyone believes in it. It’s the truth because it’s consistent and can’t be rebutted.

Ce n’est pas la vérité parce que tout le monde y croit. C’est la vérité parce que c’est cohérent et irréfutable.

Baseball: Giants roll over BayStars in weather-hit Koriyama

KORIYAMA, Japan (Kyodo) — Shuichi Murata and John Bowker homered, lefty Tetsuya Utsumi went seven shutout innings, and the Central League-leading Yomiuri Giants blanked the DeNA BayStars 6-0 to open a three-game series on Tuesday night.

Yomiuri center fielder Hisayoshi Chono went 3-for-4, delivering a two-run single to put the game out of reach in the eighth. Murata also had three hits, featuring an RBI single after a two-out triple by Itaru Hashimoto in pouring rain in the ninth.

The runaway Giants, who improved to 10-2 this season against the BayStars, can clinch a magic number in their bid for their second consecutive pennant with a win on Wednesday.

Utsumi (9-4) yielded six hits, struck out four and walked two, while BayStars starter Daisuke Miura (7-9) gave up two runs — both home runs — and seven hits in seven innings of the loss for DeNa, which lost a season-worst six in a row.

“I wasn’t really pitching that well tonight but I kept us in the game,” said Utsumi. “My style is getting runners out once I’ve let them on base. That’s what I was able to do tonight. My curveball is the pitch I rely on most and it was really working for me,” he said.

The BayStars had few chances for a rally, putting runners at first and second with two outs in the fourth before Kenjiro Tsuruoka flied out to right.

Later, Giants third baseman Murata made a fine leaping grab on Toshiro Miyazaki’s liner for the second out in the seventh. Runners reached first and second, but Tsuruoka missed the sign from third base coach Toshifumi Baba to hold up and was tagged out at home on Takehiro Ishikawa’s single to right.

There was a sudden heavy downpour at Kaiseizan Stadium after the eighth inning got under way, but the weather let up within minutes before another shower in the final frame.

In the eighth, Murata was issued a free pass with one out, and former Seattle Mariner Jose Lopez had a two-out single before pinch-hitter Kenji Yano drew a walk to load the bases. Chono then knocked in two on a high-and-in fastball from Shigeru Kaga.

After Murata’s single made it 5-0 in the final inning, Lopez added salt to the wound with an RBI double as puddles began to form in different parts of the field.

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
