Group of mutated sunflowers found in Misato city Saitama

Mutated sunflowers were found growing as a group in Misato city Saitama. It’s 205km from Fukushima plant.

The radiation level was 0.40 μSv/h at 30cm from the ground, 0.24 μSv/h at 120cm from the ground after a passing rain.

These pictures were taken at 13:00 9/22/2012.

Des tournesols mutants ont été trouvés poussant en groupe dans la commune de Misato, préfecture de Saitama. C’est à 205 km de la centrale de Fukushima.

Le niveau de radioactivité était de 0,40 μSv/h à 30 cm du sol et 0,24 μSv/h à 1 m 20 après une petite pluie.

Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
