[Column] Some people spread disinformation that I was dead or arrested, so this is the video

On Fukushima Diary, some people were spreading disinformation that I was killed or arrested with no basis and demanded for a video to upload.

It is ridiculous to take time to prove that I’m myself now that less and less people pay attention to Fukushima, which is more important.

Also if I upload a video, I’d have to do that again every time they threaten me to spread the disinformation.

Probably what triggered the paranoia was the renewal of this site, but it doesn’t justify anything.

Also, I was on Ustream last Sunday. (http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/52104827)

I couldn’t accept the fact that Fukushima Diary is so deteriorated that it even attracts those who consume Fukushima for their excitement and attention for themselves.

I had many reasons not to do this. (and I caught a cold since last week)

As I wrote in my last column (Visa research, Japanese family and citizen emigrating to Europe and a reader got Dr by Fukushima Diary [URL] ), now a Japanese reader is in Romania. They incorporated and we are applying for visa. Today we are looking for apartments to live and work in, and also going to a bank for administrative things. I won’t be back home until tonight, so morning was the only time to post an article.

But when I compared writing a single article and making this video to let you know what is going on around me, video might be a bit more important, I thought.

One comment of the disinformation spreader “Should we plan funeral for Iori ?” was the last straw.

I’ve wasted 2 hours on this. This is it. No more.

I tried to install a Bitcoin button on the sidebar. Because I don’t have bitcoin, I can’t test it to see if it works. I would be very glad if you use it for a test.

  1. I don’t think anyone is paying attention to those rumor-spreaders. I’ve never even heard of them, nor anyone I know. You have to not let these people take your attention and energy. Thank you for your work, always.

    1. I have to admit, I was wondering if he was ok too? I am so glad he is safe and he is continuing to report the TRUTH with regards to what is really going on with Fukushima in Japan…. I was shocked to read that the Japanese Government is considering starting up a couple of nuclear reactors! Japanese Citizens…. RISE UP and DEMAND THE GOVERNMENT BAN NUCLEAR ENERGY FOREVER! Everything I read lately, horribly saddens me with the continuing crisis of the Fukushima disaster! I feel so bad for the Japanese people in what they are going through! They are constantly fed LIES and PROPAGANDA by TEPCO and their own GOVERNMENT! Japanese people, please get out of Japan while you can! Fukushima will kill off the your population slowly one by one! Start migrating to other countries now! Come to the US, Great Britain, France, Germany, wherever, but leave Japan! Don’t die in vain!

      1. Why didn’t Chernobyl fallout kill off Europe? It’s been 30 years. The apocalypse has failed to arrive.

  2. Glad to see you’re still with us Iori. I didn’t seriously think you’d disappeared, but given the state of the world these days I can’t blame some readers (or at least one) for having doubts. The recent death of the TV director that you reported on this site is, I can’t help suspecting, a sobering reminder of the lengths to which corporate interests and organised crime will go to silence opposition. There are a lot of people out here who greatly admire your work and regard Fukushima Diary as one of the few consistent, reliable and unbiased sources of information about the situation in Fukushima and Japan generally. We care about your wellbeing and would act on your behalf if you got into strife. Hopefully you’re out of harm’s way in Romania; but the fact is you’re pretty much alone in a foreign country and Europe is getting more dangerous by the week. I don’t want to be pessimistic, but if you were arrested (for example) I hope you have colleagues and supporters who would know you were missing and could get word out. Take care and best wishes, Iori.

  3. Bill Duff has been posting rumours like this on here for weeks…I asked him to stop but he is a one man show over there.

  4. Welcome to the Internet Mochizuki-san. The world is full of idiots and crazies and conspiracy theorists and they all have a computer.

  5. Am grateful you are alive and well, Mochizuki-san
. Thank you very much for the mercy of putting this issue to rest (for now).

That video where you did a tour of a Swedish town, where you did all you could to avoid even so much as a clear reflection of yourself into the camera was a little over-the-top, and seems somewhat taunting, perhaps even cruel in retrospect.

Am grateful to appear “the fool” to know you are alive and as well as can be expected.

It brightens my day to know you are OK.
Please do not underestimate this effect on others.

May you succeed in your manifold endeavours.

      Title: “Choosing Secure Passwords”

Quote: “the oft-cited XKCD scheme for generating passwords — string together individual words like “correcthorsebatterystaple” — is no longer good advice. The password crackers are on to this trick.”

  7. It’s not easy to understand when people go off researching while those who spread rumors possible jealous or dispise news.

    1. Now one of my messages shows up?? I wrote at least a half dozen in support that never showed-?? 🙁

      Good Luck!~

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
