[Column] Finally managed to renew my visa

Note : If you are from the international mass media, Don’t read this site before having a contact with me.

I finally received the new visa 2 days ago.
As I have written a couple of times, it has been such a loooong way.
I had to tackle the heaps of troubles, been almost feeling numb.

When I started the preparation was in August.
When I tried to submit the application “for the first time” was in October.

and it was issued in January.

In the process of preparation, me and the lawyer found their mistake of my financial registration, mistake of my company registration, and suffered the system glitch of health insurance record.

The immigration office was full of applicants. They shut down the reception just in front of us, twice.
After all, I tried to submit the form once in October, twice in November, and twice in December again.

They were supposed to issue it in the beginning of January. However they ended up taking 2 weeks extra. This is what visa is.
However after all, I managed to obtain the new visa. I have a place to stay at least for one more year. Though I’m always moving, I need some place to call “casa” somewhere in the world. I seem able to concentrate on Fukushima reporting for one more year.

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
