    Biography [edit]

Iori Mochizuki was born in 1983, in the city of Yokohama, in the Japan. Single child of a family of entrepreneurs, it is placed in a Buddhist Manger before joining Mutsukawa nishi Catholic Elementary School. This confrontation with two types of religious teachings participates in the formation of his critical spirit. Iori Mochizuki is defined as non-religious, although he practised meditation and regularly make reference to the property and the mal1. The death of his grandmother by morphine overdose strengthens its suspicion towards any form of authority, be it medical, religious or political. At the age of 11, he joined Seiko2 College, where he pursued all of high school. He has then continued with studies in accounting at the National University of Yokohama3. In 2006, he was recruited by Sharp Corporation. But, the following year, he joined the company of his father where he held a position of civil engineer. March 11, 2011, he is in his Office when the largest earthquake in the history of the Japan, with a magnitude of 9.04.

After March 11, 2011, the birth of the citizen journalist [edit]

Back home, Iori Mochizuki learns that a tsunami struck the Pacific coast of the Tōhoku region, causing serious damage to the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power. Later in the day, Prime Minister Naoto Kan said the nuclear emergency. While the Japanese Government is reassuring, Iori Mochizuki seeks to learn more about the situation. After several explosions occurred at the plant, he begins to distrust of official information and starts a real computer watch. In his research, he persuaded that traditional media does not properly cover the situation. He also becomes aware of the importance of the nuclear lobby in the Japan and around the world. For Iori Mochizuki, the International Atomic Energy Agency and most of the pro-nucléaires Governments have implemented a true work of disinformation to hide the effects of radioactivity on the 5.

The journal of Iori Mochizuki on Dianuke [edit]

Therefore, Iori Mochizuki begins in a fight for the information, using social networks to spread the information that he considers most important. It essentially uses its Facebook6 and Twitter7 accounts to spread information and to express his anger at what he sees as a media blackout. It is on Facebook that the quality of his posts is noticed by the administrator of the Indian anti-nuclear site Dianuke8. It then offers him to reissue the result of his research as a compilation. Iori Mochizuki takes this opportunity to propose the drafting of real articles to Dianuke.org. The first note of Iori Mochizuki is published on 26 July 20119. Baptized Fukushima Diary, the journal of Iori Mochizuki on Dianuke takes the form of a daily ticket, in which the author takes over and analysis the most important information of the day. The tone very critical, desperate, but also humorous of Iori Mochizuki is success. Here again, social networks amply participated in disseminating these tickets.

Fukushima Diary, Iori Mochizuki blog [edit]

Just after the publication of the first notes of Iori Mochizuki, Dianuke.org meets serious problems. The site is offlined three times by its host, due to too heavy internet traffic. To support Dianuke and Iori Mochizuki, the articles are listed on countless sites and blogs, including the site of the foundation of Helen Caldicott10. Very quickly, a biologist and webmaster American creates a mirror site, to save all the tickets of Iori Mochizuki. In tribute to the first article of Iori Mochizuki, the site is named Fukushima Diary11. July 31, 2011, Iori Mochizuki publishes his daily tickets on fukushima – diary .com at the same time as dianuke.org. From September 19, Iori Mochizuki is dedicated only to fukushima – diary .com. The form of publications is changing gradually. Quot tickets

  3. If the page survives for a week the Wikipedia notion of relevance, I’d be glad to translate it to English and Spanish. However I can only imagine that they will delete it because a blogger is not relevant (unlike, say, Pokemon), unless he/she has starred in conventional media at least occasionally.

If it’s the first page you ever write for Wikipedia, it’s surely best that it’s not your own biography. Honest advise.

But if, a week from now or so, you remain determined to have such pages and have not stumbled upon a long list of difficulties (that I am positive you’d have in the English Wikipedia at least), send me an email to lialdamizDELETETHIS@gmail.com (removing the DELETETHIS anti-spam protection, obviously).

  4. Hi Mochizuki San,

I might not have time today but I could translate it into english
tomorrow if nobody has done it yet.
    Thanks for everything.

  5. English google translation is not correct here or is confusing here. I will point out the locations below:

-Iori to Mochizuki, the International Agency for Atomic Energy and the most pro-nuclear governments have implemented a true work of disinformation to hide the effects of radiation on health .

-Dianuke-this word I do not understand-my suggesting is omit or remove word here -The diary of Iori Mochizuki Dianuke

-the word ‘ticket’ used in ‘The diary of Iori Mochizuki Dianuke’ is confusing. Do you mean to say article?

    – Dianuke.org. is this a link to a site?

-in google translate this sentence is incorrect, I don’t understand the meaning, ‘The highly critical tone, but also desperate humorous Iori Mochizuki in the success’

-‘Just after the publication of the first bills Iori Mochizuki, Dianuke.org encounter serious problems.’ -the word “bills” is not right and confusing ??

-‘Conversely, fukushima-diary.com is still subject to regular traffic problems “excessive”.’ – I am confused with the word ‘conversely’. and IMO sentence sounds better as: …subject to excessive traffic problems.

Iori, as I said earlier, the google translate is not 100% accurate. As they say, ‘it got lost in translation’ applies.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can be of help. You can always email me at any time, if you like.
I am also dedicated to helping the Japanese people and children, so I will help you in any way I can.
    Mary 🙂

  6. Dear Iori,
    & all translators,

I inform you there is an error in this sentence of Wikipedia Iori french page :

    (Faits notoires)

….Souffrant de nombreux symptômes depuis le 3 mars (diarrhée, toux, conjonctivite, douleurs, fatigue, amnésie…)17, Iori…

it is not “3 mars” but “11 mars” (I suppose you do not suffer symptoms by anticipation..)

    Best Regards

  7. Cher Iori,

  8. Mr. Mochizuki.

Of so many of us, Iori, you have worked hard and taken great personal risk to get an innocent message out. I am shamed by our indifference.

To celebrate such modest beings standing courageous to such an aberration, please take a moment to raise your keyboard in mute celebration to our uncommon valour. It is our birthright, we all have it in us, but you chose to express it in it’s most humble form.

Spread of illness, crop failure and hunger may be a price we pay for this industrial incident. We all share burdens of our appetites; a horrendous accident was always inevitable. Debate about this particular calamity will last a decade, possibly far, far less.

“Facebook6 and Twitter7 accounts to spread information and to express his anger at what he sees as a media blackout” to quote a Wikipedia web page. We respond in our humanity to quote a poet and playwright “To thine own self be true.”

One offers these cold words to a pillar of our intention and intellect. When you and I slip to where our great-grandparents are, may we join others we shared our world with. Whether in abject void or in a most brightest of light, may we meet as friends and admirers.

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
