[Analysis] Senkaku / Diaoyu dispute as an ugly twin of Fukushima problem

When I was registering the company, the translator asked me,
“Are you a Fukushima expert, right?”
I had to say
“Unfortunately yes.”

This doesn’t mean I know everything about Fukushima. It means most of the people don’t know more about Fukushima than me.

Sadly I found myself an expert about this issue.

so why do I write about Japan / China dispute over the small island ? Shouldn’t report about Fukushima instead ?

My hypothesis is this is how Japanese government deal with Fukushima. To swerve people’s attention, and conscript people to supply Fukushima workers, they create artificial menace outside of the country, which is a traditional way of governing domestically.

Because it’s the ugly twin of Fukushima effect, it will be as serious as Fukushima accident.
The more they commit into Senkaku / Diaoyu, the less they commit into decommissioning Fukushima.

Every time we report food / soil contamination, they criticize us, “It was contaminated even before 311 due to the historical nuclear test and Chernobyl.”
Let’s apply this logic to the current situation over the small islands.

On 2/6/2013, Fukushima Diary reported, “JP “From our analysis, Chinese frigate shot radar to target firing on our ship, could cause a critical situation””. [URL 1]

Is it new ? Didn’t it happen before ?

In the Diet record of security council in 2005, it is stated, “Media reported Chinese warships aimed radar at Japanese P3C, but the Defense agency did not investigate it.” *1 *2

so this was nothing new. It has been happening since before.

As to the lastest radar issue, Chinese government comments it was just a cautionary radar, not a firing-control radar. *3

Japanese government is trying to create another problem.

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
