20,000 Bq/Kg from school swimming pool sediment in Miyagi prefecture

According to a citizens’ radiation monitoring station in Kakuda city Miyagi prefecture, significantly high level of Cs-134/137 was measured from sediment in a swimming pool.

The pool is located in an elementary school of the city. The school is probably going to have a swimming class this year.

Cs-137 : 12118.2 Bq/Kg

Cs-134 : 7256.4 Bq/kg

Total : 19,374 Bq/Kg

Selon une station privée de surveillance de la radioactivité de la ville de Kakuda, dans la préfecture de Miyagi, des niveaux sérieusement élevés de césium 134/137 ont été relevés dans les sédiments d’une piscine de natation.

La piscine est dans une école élémentaire de la ville. L’école va sans doute reprendre ses cours de natation cette année.

Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
