On 11/15/2013, Tepco released the video of their testing the fuel removal from reactor4 pool. They used the mock-up fuel.

The test was implemented from 11/13 to 11/14/2013.

I reject the international mass media to read this site without taking a contact with me.I know some of the mass media corporations read Fukushima Diary to understand the trend so they know when to report about Fukushima as if they were independently following it for a long time.
In short, they make you individual readers pay for this site while they pay nothing, and when they publish the “authorized news”, you pay for the “secondhand news”, which is nothing new for us.
This site is free for the individual readers, but not for corporations. In the world, this site is nearly the only source about Fukushima. I came here alone without any supporting organizations, background or anything. I’m not pleased to be exploited by the corporations that didn’t even properly report about Fukushima when 311 took place.

I demand them to take a contact with me BEFORE reading this site whatever the purpose is.

  1. Quote: ““The maximum output of spent fuel in reactor4 pool is only about to work a hair dryer””

I had no idea that they possessed a 1.2GW hair dryer.
    WHO knew?

  2. Institutional Suicide

The global mendacity media remains doggedly and apparently, suicidally determined; to omit, obfuscate, overpass, overlook and obscure the ongoing Fukushima nuclear disasters.

I live in a suburban subdivision of a major metropolitan area. The local newspaper has not seen fit to MENTION the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant Spent Fuel relocation process. There is no coverage whatsoever. On the website, a search for (Fukushima spent common fuel pool cask) produces ZERO results. Notably MISSING, from every frontyard, are ‘dead-tree format’ newspapers.

No one is deceived. There are no readers. Ergo the advertizers are leaving. Presumably, the local newspaper favors suicidal population ignorance and practices institutional suicide. This appears to be a global phenomenon. On the positive side, the forests are rebounding. Also, virtually ALL the stories on the Drudge Report, (which seldom publishes original content) are inane.

Meanwhile, citizen journalism and Fukushima coverage is flourishing and spreading like wildfire.

  3. correspondents describe?

Inadequate, Inaccurate, brain-dead Uranium Cartel propaganda. WTF does “in what correspondents describe as a risky and dangerous operation”? (??? Correspondents ???) Are there no ACTUAL authorities willing to make statements ‘on the record’? Or is disinformation the prime mission of the global mendacity media?

http www bbc co uk/ (news/world-asia-24958048) 18 November 2013 Last updated at 03:12 ET

‘Japan’s Fukushima nuclear plant begins fuel rod removal’ – Workers at Japan’s stricken Fukushima nuclear plant have begun removing fuel rods from a storage pond at the Unit 4 reactor building. The delicate operation is seen as a necessary step in stabilising the site. It will take about two days to remove the first 22 fuel rod assemblies, plant operator Tepco says. Overall, more than 1,500 assemblies must be be removed in what correspondents describe as a risky and dangerous operation set to take a year.

  4. So in an otherwise boring but fairly clear videos, I notice there is an unusual blurry area of pixelation at the point where the large stainless-steel arms connect to the big transportation can. It’s in all the videos, even the ones on the TEPCO site Iori linked.

NOW what’s TEPCO hiding? Why would they once again use an amateurish edit on a public video to obscure that one detail? I have no idea what they intend to hide here – is it cracked or something? Leaking? WHY would they toss out such a poorly Photoshopped video that calls attention to itself?

Somehow, I think this whole effort is going to end up very bad.

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
