Following up this article.. [Wrong analysis for 2.5 years] Tepco “All the radiation analysts were outsourced staff. No Tepco employee in Lab.” [URL]

The wrongly analyzed samples are up to 167, Tepco announced in their press conference of 2/14/2014.

They were stating all the nuclides might have been underestimated including Strontium-90, but they re-stated actually it was only all β nuclide to have been underestimated.

Among 20,866 samples to detect all β nuclide from 311 to October of 2013, 0.8% of the samples were analyzed in the wrong manner.

However, they commented the correct reading may be over 10 times much as originally announced data.

For example, last July they measured 5,000,000,000 Bq/m3 of Strontium-90 from the groundwater taken in the seaside of reactor2. (cf, 5,000,000,000 Bq/m3 of Strontium-90 measured from groundwater last July / Tepco not announced for half a year [URL 2]

From this sample, they also measured 900,000,000 Bq/m3 of all β nuclide. The correct reading can be over 9,000,000,000 Bq/m3 with 166 other samples.

We have been shown the underestimated scale of the accident. The newly revealed fact is requiring us to update our recognitions over the on-going accident.

  1. I wonder if they would have had more help had they told the truth to begin with?
I fear for the safety of the Japanese people. So much happening there, so little they can do.
Mass exodus needs to be happening. If China wants the islands so bad, why don’t they come and help out???
This just gets sadder and sadder by the day.

  2. It would not have helped much, IMHO.

The USA and the CTBTO members have a FULL COPY of the Fukushima Data. Thus, virtually EVERY national government on earth is concealing the data; not just Japan and their bankrupt ward of the state, TEPCO.

More to the Point, Barack Obama, and the United Nations have been willfully telling the same TEPCO lies, since the get go.

This widespread criminal cabal and their synchronized lying campaign is the primary factor, which moved me from a formerly TEPID supporter of nuclear power to a STRONG opponent of these technologies.

    Sincerely,

    Bill Duff

      1. Actually, this is relaying a 1st person account by an experienced seafarer: The North Pacific Ocean is a dead, radioactive, trash dump.

        Life & Style By GREG RAY Oct. 18, 2013, 10 p.m. http www theherald com.au/ (story/1848433/the-ocean-is-broken/?cs=12)

        The ocean is broken

IT was the silence that made this voyage different from all of those before it. Not the absence of sound, exactly. The wind still whipped the sails and whistled in the rigging. The waves still sloshed against the fibreglass hull. And there were plenty of other noises: muffled thuds and bumps and scrapes as the boat knocked against pieces of debris. What was missing was the cries of the seabirds which, on all previous similar voyages, had surrounded the boat. The birds were missing because the fish were missing.

Exactly 10 years before, when Newcastle yachtsman Ivan Macfadyen had sailed exactly the same course from Melbourne to Osaka, all he’d had to do to catch a fish from the ocean between Brisbane and Japan was throw out a baited line.

The next leg of the long voyage was from Osaka to San Francisco and for most of that trip the desolation was tinged with nauseous horror and a degree of fear. “After we left Japan, it felt as if the ocean itself was dead,” Macfadyen said. “We hardly saw any living things. We saw one whale, sort of rolling helplessly on the surface with what looked like a big tumour on its head. It was pretty sickening. “I’ve done a lot of miles on the ocean in my life and I’m used to seeing turtles, dolphins, sharks and big flurries of feeding birds. But this time, for 3000 nautical miles there was nothing alive to be seen.”

        1. Mr Bill Duff posts the same story in many places. It’s relevancy to a discussion on government coverups is nonexistent.

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
