Tepco crane picked up the skimmer surge tank hatch by mistake during debris removal of reactor3

According to Tepco,Tepco mis-operated to have a crane pick up the hatch of skimmer surge tank of reactor3.

On 4/18/2013, they were removing the debris caused by the explosion from reactor3. During the operation, a crane picked up the hatch of skimmer surge tank by mistake.

Skimmer surge tank is a part of the spent fuel pool coolant system. Tepco reported they “immediately” returned it but it is not known the effect for the spent fuel pool and the reactor itself.

The hatch was covered by the scattered debris. The video record of the accident is not published.

La grue de Tepco a retiré par erreur la trappe du réservoir de trop-plein pendant le retrait des décombres du réacteur 3

 

Selon Tepco, Tepco a commis une erreur opératoire en emportant la trappe du réservoir de trop-plein du réacteur 3.

Le 18 avril 2013, ils retiraient les décombres de l’explosion du réacteur 3. Pendant l’opération, une grue a emporté par erreur la trappe du réservoir de trop-plein.

Le réservoir de trop-plein fait partie du système de refroidissement de la piscine à combustibles usagés (SFP) . Tepco rapporte qu’ils l’ont “immédiatement” remise mais on ne sait pas quels ont été les effets sur la SFP et sur le réacteur lui-même.

La trappe était recouverte de décombres éparpillées. L’enregistrement vidéo de l’accident n’est pas publié.

Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
