According to Yokohama city councilor Inoue, over 8,000 Bq/Kg of radioactive cesium was measured from 18 schools in 2011.

The sample is the sludge of rainwater utilization system. 44 schools have the system in Yokohama city and over 8,000 Bq/Kg was measured from the samples in 18 schools.

Even in 2012, over 8,000 Bq/Kg was measured from the samples of 9 schools.
The reading was increased in 5 schools and it remained the same in 1 school.

The highest reading of 2011 was 16,800 Bq/Kg from Sueyoshi elementary school.
The highest reading of 2012 was 14,200 Bq/Kg from Chigasakihigashi elementary school.

Also, 11,300 Bq/Kg was measured from a fountain of Yokohama arena. (9/17/2011)
12,800 Bq/Kg was measured beside the planting of Yokohama arena too. (9/17/2011)

They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
