Leaned crane at reactor3 had annual inspection only 3 months ago and daily test in the beginning of the day

In the press conference of 9/6/2013, Tepco stated it had the annual visual inspection this June, which is very recent. Also, they had the daily inspection about the crane motion in the beginning of the day of the accident.

According to Tepco, the crane is supposed to last from 15 to 25 years. They had the leaned crane into the operation in August of 2011. It’s not clear if it was brand new.

They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
