Cs-134 / 137 density jumped up 12 times much as previous highest reading in groundwater beside Reactor 2

On 7/29/2014, Tepco announced Cesium-134 / 137 density of groundwater increased by over 12 times much as the previous highest reading.

This July, the groundwater was taken in the seaside of Reactor 2.

Last week, the highest density of All β nuclide to include Strontium-90 and Cs-134 were also measured from another boring in the same area.

The highest reading that Tepco announced today was 116,000 Bq/m3 (Cs-134 / 137) . The previous highest reading was 9,600 Bq/m3.

 

Tepco is struggling to stop contaminated water spreading by building frozen water wall, however the actual contamination doesn’t seem to stop at all.

La radioactivité en césium des eaux souterraines du réacteur 2 multiplie par 12 son précédent record

 

Le 29 juillet 2014, Tepco déclare que la radioactivité en césium 134 / 137 des eaux souterraines sont plus de 12 fois au-dessus de leur précédent record.

Ces eaux ont été prise en ce mois de juillet sur le côté mer du réacteur 2.
La semaine dernière, le record de radioactivité β dont le strontium 90 et en Cs-134 étaient également relevés dans un autre forage de la même zone. (cf. Record de radioactivité β et Cs-134 dans les eaux souterraines du réacteur 2)

Le record que Tepco annonce aujourd’hui était à 116 000 Bq/m³ (Cs 134 / 137) . Le record précédent était à 9 600 Bq/m³.

Tepco se bat pour stopper la dispersion des eaux extrêmement radioactives en construisant un mur d’eau congelée mais la pollution réelle ne semble pas du tout s’arrêter.

Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
