[Column] 2 more years

Note : If you are from the international mass media, Don’t read this site.
For most of the readers, probably the second biggest interest is if I am ok.

The conclusion is that I’m ok.

Some people think I must be missing my home, feeling lonely, depressed etc..

Indeed, you would know if you do it too.

Soon as you get on board, you’d find your biggest concern turning to be more “primitive” – Food, roof, not injured etc..

When I departed from Tokyo, the first thing I was concerned about was food (and not contaminated).

Before that time, my interest was how to look cool, how to keep human relationship good, how to keep motivated etc..

Now they all look luxury for me. These are on the assumption that you have sufficient amount of food and money.

My neighbors sometimes have a party. I see them trying to be cool and popular.

but if it was me, I would save the money instead of burning it instantly so I can survive one second longer.

In a way, it has been saving me from falling into the pieces.

When you have to pick up a piece of bread, nobody gets depressed.

but it’s more sharp and spiking concern. No even time to look back.

I might have fallen to the animal level.

If this is preferable, I’m ok. If not, I’m not.

I’ve been living for 2 years at least. 2 more years. 2 more years. As long as I keep myself alive, it’s ok.

I reject the international mass media to read this site without taking a contact with me.I know some of the mass media corporations read Fukushima Diary to understand the trend so they know when to report about Fukushima as if they were independently following it for a long time.
In short, they make you individual readers pay for this site while they pay nothing, and when they publish the “authorized news”, you pay for the “secondhand news”, which is nothing new for us.
This site is free for the individual readers, but not for corporations. In the world, this site is nearly the only source about Fukushima. I came here alone without any supporting organizations, background or anything. I’m not pleased to be exploited by the corporations that didn’t even properly report about Fukushima when 311 took place.

I demand them to take a contact with me BEFORE reading this site whatever the purpose is.

    Sample: Fukushima Diary

In November, Fukushima Diary published evidence that the fallout contamination in Japan is 33 times worse than Chernobyl:

    • “Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology publishedthe soil contamination data of 60 km area from Fukushima plants. Thedata was taken from 6/1/2011 ~ 11/22/2011.

Though it’s only about I-131, Cs-134, Cs-137 mainly, the result shows theworst contaminated area in Fukushima is 33 times worse than Chernobyl. It proves Fukushima is something nobody has ever gone through. In Chernobyl, area contaminated worse than 1,480,000 bq/m2 was definedas the worst red zone, “immediate mandatory evacuating area.”In Fukushima, Namiemachi, 22km north west to Fukushima plants is contaminated, which they measured 760,000 bq/kg (Cs-134 + Cs-137). Itequals to 49,400,000 bq/m2.”

  2. It is RACIST for the mealy-mouthed-media to give Barack Obama a ‘free pass’, because his incompetent, murderous, anti-environmental ARSE is black.

The Kenya Native should receive the EXACT same level of scrutiny; as George W. Bush, Bill Clinton and all the rest.

But WE shall not hold our breath, that the mendacious-mass-media, will EVER amend their corrupt ways.

Media CORRUPTION has thereby, materially contributed to the DEATH TOLL in Japan; as well as to the ongoing environmental degradation.

    Sincerely,

    Bill Duff

  3. Put a copyright symbol on your work, Lori. That might help, media is really like sharks. Bull sharks….

Also, you dont need to worry about what people say or rumor about you. You are doing what you feel is critical, and we all agree. So ignore the mud slinging..and just picture them in a year or so..ill and still he ‘complaining. Your efforts are keeping a window open on the disaster which no one else is doing. Forget the ‘baseless rumors’..its what you knew would probably happen..so hang in there..find a new home and rebuild your life..Romania or wherever. It will take time..but you are young, and should have that time away from Japan.

    1. Iori,

The copyright marking suggestion, is probably good business and/or personal advice. Perhaps the ‘Mendacity-Media’ may be better described as ‘Hammer Head Sharks’!

The above is generally sufficient, but not necessary, to preserve copyrights in the USA. There is a more formal method, for directly copyrighting a specific work, which allows a broader range of damages. This, formal procedure, which is not necessary for most circumstances, involves filing some documents with the USA Patent Office and paying a small fee. This is not legal advice, only a shared personal experience. I have no clue regarding Romanian and/or Japan law. However this link may be useful. http jurist law pitt edu/ (world/Romania) htm

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
