[Column] Wishing a good Christmas for Fukushima kids

Another Christmas is coming.

Thank God, I’m still alive but I can’t even imagine how those children are feeling now with thyroid disorders found.

311 was unpredictable but everything else is going exactly as anticipated after 311.

Still Fukushima has least media coverage, but Japanese government is starting to consider it to be “a total war” as a national project.

I anticipate the ultimate solution of Fukushima may be “human wave tactics”. In that case, I’m afraid the government may make all the Japanese citizens go to Fukushima like they put people in aircraft with half fuel in WW2, which is known as “Kamikaze”.

Almost nobody understand why, but this is one of the reasons why I went to research Svalbard.

I think I’ve seen hell of my own definition in 2013.

If I didn’t tackle them all, probably I would be dead on the street by now.

As I get to know more, Fukushima Diary has started focusing on the technical stuff of the plant more, and went away from social stuff more because I got to know what is behind some of those social “movements”.

Some people are trying to make money from Fukushima issue. For those people, this is just a marketing chance to increase the members of their organization, votes, or just simply pocket money.

Even though I’m risking my own life, annoyingly, I’m sometimes mistaken to be one of those people.

Even when I fell ill in the North pole, I received lots of messages to ask me to feature their youtube video or remedy stuff etc..

It’s really a sad situation.

In 2012, I said the key words will be “Contaminated water”, “Volcano / Earthquake”, and “Rearmament of Japan”. I was told I had depression or home sick (losing the right sense of judgement), but these words are mentioned even on the New York Times now.

I was also sure about that Fukushima Diary will be still there in 2013.

and that was right too.

Now that Fukushima is being forgotten even by Japanese people, it’s almost miracle that Fukushima Diary is still going on.

I’m never meant to quit it. Actually every article I write myself makes me more angry about the government and Tepco.

A few nights ago, I saw two shooting stars for some reason. I was thinking about the Christmas party of my friend’s children at the moment. I bet they are going to have a great Christmas party.

I reject the international mass media to read this site without taking a contact with me.I know some of the mass media corporations read Fukushima Diary to understand the trend so they know when to report about Fukushima as if they were independently following it for a long time.
In short, they make you individual readers pay for this site while they pay nothing, and when they publish the “authorized news”, you pay for the “secondhand news”, which is nothing new for us.
This site is free for the individual readers, but not for corporations. In the world, this site is nearly the only source about Fukushima. I came here alone without any supporting organizations, background or anything. I’m not pleased to be exploited by the corporations that didn’t even properly report about Fukushima when 311 took place.

I demand them to take a contact with me BEFORE reading this site whatever the purpose is.

  1. Merry Christmas Lori. Just a short heart felt message from our home to yours. Christmas is a spirit, and I know you have that spirit in your heart! Thank you from all my children and my family for what you are doing. We care for you as one of ours.

  2. thank you for all your hard work.

  3. Merry Christmas and I think we all appreciate your sacrifices and pain, I’m sure of it as I know that homesickness albeit able to come home, and I hope you are surrounded by all those that care about you and that doesn’t mean only family can do that. I’m sure you met knew friends! Merry Christmas to you and all of Japan, and you provide an invaluable service for them. I like everything you wrote. Wonderful post. Much love for you and for the Japanese who need all of our help.

  4. Just remember, you cannot stop the diseases, but you can make sure the world can know about them and your focusing on technical aspects is wonderful. I think it is to the point we all become homeschooled nuclear physicist if we can successfully rebutt all their lies with cold hard facts. The kids and the unborn depend on the living now and you are not failing them. I wouldn’t know had it not been for you.

  5. Yes…never let a global emergency go to waste….

The United States Commerce Department to the rescue…

You think TEPCO is screwed up??? Wait until you get some carpetbacking thieving American outfit like Halliburton or Bechtel in there.

Thank you for what you do.

  6. Hey Lori,

I’ve been following your diary for a while now and because of christmas i felt it is the right time to show you my appreciation & gratitude for keeping it real and keeping us informed of what’s going on… you really make a difference in this world that tseems to turn its back against itself.
Much love & light to you in these dark times… we are connected and allways will be… no matter what!
It is not the circumstances that matter, but the state of being that matters 🙂

Thank you for your valuable effort <3

*** Merry christ consciousness and a happy new you we verse ***

  7. Dear Mr.Mochizuki, thank you for all informations you’re giving us every day. I’m still thinking about the tragedy in Fukushima and praying for all Japanese People and for you. May your Christmas time be quiet and happy as much as it can be in this situation

  8. Hello Lori and bless you and your dedication to bringing this information to us all.

I am also reporting on Fukushima on my site and will continue to do so, and adding to the coverage in the new year.

I am grateful that I was brought to this site. It was posted on a meditation group I am a part of on FB called ‘Daily Global Meditation for Fukushima’.

    We are all Japanese…

Sending love and prayers to you and all in Japan and everywhere who are continuing to shine light on this most ominous opportunity to heal war once and for all.

    Peace throught truth,

    DJamil Graham

  9. Fukushima Children

The Children of Fukushima, like the children of Bethlehem circa 4 BC, were needlessly slaughtered by ambitious and corrupt political leaders.

International intrigue and commercial greed remain unabated, after two millennia. Still the lights of ChristMass shine bright.

An interesting historical detail, Herod the Great was an Olympic champion in the sport of Combat, according to Josephus, if memory serves.

    Sincerely,

    Bill Duff

  10. Merry Xmas.

I have been using your site as an information resource ever since 3/11. I post nearly every day on the Guardian’s Comment is Free requesting articles on Fukushima to total ignoration. But the level of awareness is raising despite the attemted MSM blackout

    Check out my posing history.

    More power to your elbow.

    All the best,

    dierobdie

  11. Merry Cristmas to you too !
And good luck for all you are doing, I’m not particulary religious but I’m sending you my prayers of hope and gentleness. Thank you for your Fukushima Diary.

  12. Thank you so much for all your efforts. Know that many here will help however we can. Your voice is heard in this savage wilderness. Your being here is like a lamp in the darkness. Thank you!

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
