[Column] The new reporting way of Fukushima Diary

As it’s stated in “[Column] Fukushima Diary will take the initiative of international media coverage about Fukushima [Link]”, Fukushima Diary will improve the reporting way.

Since it started, Fukushima Diary has been following other media when it’s not about something uniquely discovered by Fukushima Diary.
However, it was not very clear why Fukushima Diary reported it sometimes. It was difficult for readers to know how it can be connected to Fukushima accident.

As of 2013, I will write original articles to show “what is the meaning of recent news” by reorganizing just-in s, which were likely to be individual articles before 2012.
For example, “Confusing medical industry and demographic statistics help JP gov conceal the radiation effect on health” [Link] is one of those articles.

Though it includes several newest facts such as Saitama medical center, decreasing population of Japan and legislation of forcing retailers to sell Fukushima products, as the entire article, it has a different meaning which is more important in the longer run, so you can easily know why these facts are “hot”.

In order to get the whole image of a thing, you sometimes need to see it in a distance like constellation.
These articles written in the new way are more important than only a sum of individual articles, but it’s trying to tell where the world is going.

I really hope you won’t get lost and keep track of the news.

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
