Radioactive debris at JR Kamotsu terminal

Regardless of all the petition from all over the world, Tokyo local government decided to accept radioactive debris.

About 1 hour before this article is written, debris from Iwate just arrived at JR Tokyo kamotsu terminal.

Currently news reporters gather there, but they are forbidden to measure radiation for some reason.

Here are the live report. The person is measuring radiation ignoring the order.

Debris has just arrived. It’s already over 35 micro Sv/h around the truck and containers at JR Tokyo Kamotsu terminal. Make sure to wear a mask today.

Some kind of liquid is leaking out of the container, which seems highly radioactive.Around the liquid, it’s about 5.8 micro Sv/h.

“Private” geiger was banned to use for some reason.lol and a “news reporter” from Yomiuri had a geiger, which showed 8.*** micro Sv/h, but used a calculator and read it as “0.087“. What was that calculation ? lol

Maybe that is all for today. Radiation level has become 0.6 micro Sv/h.

No radiation expert has been sent to this place.

The debris will be burnt or recycled. Ash will be used to fill land or absorbed to our lungs.

Tokyo will accept 500,000 tons of debris in coming 2.5 years in total.

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
