67 Tera Bq/km2 of Te-129 measured from rainwater in Gunma on 3/16/2011

According to MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology), 67 Tera Bq/Km2 (67,000,000,000,000 Bq/Km2) of Te-129 was measured from rainwater in Gunma prefecture on 3/16/2011.

The report was published in Feb. 2013.

The half-life is 33.6 days. It’s from Sb-129 by beta decay. It turns to be I-129 (Half-life : 15,700,000 years).

From the data base of MEXT, Te-129 had not been detected from rainwater from 1957. 4 to 2010. 3.

Selon le MEXT (Ministère de l’Éducation, de la Culture, des Sports, de la Science et des Technologies), le 16 mars 2011, 67 Tera Bq/Km² (67 000 000 000 000 Bq/Km²) de Te 129 ont été relevés dans de l’eau de pluie dans la préfecture de Gunma .

Le rapport a été publié en février 2013.

Sa demie-vie est de 33,6 jours. Il dérive du Sb 129 (antimoine) par dégradation bêta. Il se change en iode 129 (demie-vie : 15 700 000 ans).

Dans la base de données du MEXT, le Te 129 n’a pas été détecté dans l’eau de pluie depuis avril 1957, jusqu’en mars 2010.

Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
