I-131 density spiked in sewage plant of Fukushima

Iodine-131 density jumped up in sewage plant of Fukushima this October. The sample was dry sludge.

According to Fukushima sewage public corporation, I-131 started being detected from sludge on 10/23/2014. The density was 744.9 Bq/Kg.

It increased towards 10/26/2014 and kept being detected until the end of October. The highest reading was 921.5 Bq/Kg.

 

There was 21.5 mm of rainfall on 10/22/2014, but it is not in sync with I-131 density from their data.

 

I-131 is used for medical treatment but also known as fission product.

En octobre dernier, la radioactivité de l’iode 131 est montée en flèche dans une station d’épuration de Fukushima. Les échantillons sont constitués de boues séchées.

Selon l’entreprise publique de traitement des eaux usées de Fukushima, ils ont commencé à détecter de l’iode 131 dans les boues séchées le 23 octobre 2014. Cette radioactivité était à 744,9 Bq/kg.
Elle a augmenté jusqu’au 26 octobre 2014 et est restée détectable jusqu’à la fin du mois d’octobre. Le record a été de 921,5 Bq/kg.

Il y a eu 21,5 mm de pluie le 22 octobre 2014 mais ce n’est pas synchrone avec la radioactivité du I 131, selon leurs données.

L’iode 131 est utilisé dans des traitements médicaux mais il est surtout connu comme étant un produit de la fission nucléaire.

Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
