16 years old boxer came down with acute leukemia

A 16 years old boxer came down with acute myelogenous leukemia.

It is meaningless to pick up each single cancer case for the purpose of showing the trend, however having no public trustworthy statistics are published, this is the only way to sketch what is going on in real.

The 16 years old boxer, “H” (*) has been training in a boxing gym in Hyogo. He was in bad shape recently, and the doctor diagnosed acute myelogenous leukemia from the result of detailed inspection.

The owner of the gym posted on his blog on 3/15/2014.

* Considering the fact that he is still in 10s, I covered his name and pictures though you can access it from the Japanese source.

  1. What can anyone say to relieve any of the sadness that his family must be enduring now? They must be going out of their minds.

This is not the first one, and very sadly, will not be the last.

Of course, let us also honor and not forget those that have succumbed to acute-cardiac-insufficiency, among other forms of disease.
    http : //fukushima-diary.com/tag/acute-cardiac-insufficiency/
I see no page for acute heart failure, acute myocardial infarction, acute ischemic heart disease, acute hemorrhagic conjunctivitis, or acute pancreatitis, etc. though there are many more articles. If you search for Mochizuki-san’s articles involving the word “acute” you reveal at least 150 articles.

“KLING: We just lost tire pressure on left outboard and left inboard, both tires.”
Are we “Go for Throttle-Up” yet?

  2. “however having no public trustworthy statistics are published, this is the only way to sketch what is going on in real.”

No, this is not. There are leukemia cases in every single country in the world. Without statistics, this information only maintains baseless fears, and avert the eyes from the ‘real’ information.

Making an article complaining about the lack of trustworthy statistics? Sure thing.
Making an article explaining that people are afraid of seeing cancers around them? Why not.
Making an article about every single cancer case? You’re fighting against the cause you’re trying to defend. Don’t fall into that trap. I like this blog because it provides objective information and facts, leaving the reader free to reach its own conclusions. Don’t let noise interfere with truth.

  3. Proving a Negative,

It was once axiomatic, that ‘you cannot prove a negative’. The USDA once demonstrated a contrary example.

There were a lot of bad tomatoes from Mexico. Then President George W. Bush refused to allow the FDA to publish the Mexico Source of those sewage contaminated tomatoes. The FDA empirically proved a negative.

The FDA said Tomato clumps connected to stems were OK. Then they said that Spain tomatoes were safe. Then that ROMA tomatoes were sanitary. Then, France, Brazil, Texas and California tomatoes were not the source of the problem. Then Tamaulipas, Sonora & Chiapas tomatoes from Mexico were given a clean bill of health. Eventually the FDA cleared every tomato farm on earth, but one.

To my personal satisfaction, the FDA proved a negative on the order of 100,000 times. If memory the farm was spraying with sewage water and the farmer committed suicide. So there was a happy ending.

So, yes, perhaps publishing ALL the individual cases of all the types of cancer, which could POSSIBLY be caused by the Fukushima nuclear disaster, is one way to begin. Coincidence is not causality. However the inductive logic method of empirically gathering enough cases, and case specifics, and thus data is another way to proceed.

    Go for it.

    1. Nested Comment

A privately assembled, publicly available health record, WOULD provide, present day and future, medical researchers and public health statisticians a wealth of data, for mining. Who got sick, and what were their signs, symptoms, diagnoses, prognosis, course of treatment, outcomes, personal narrative, and associated medical chart data?

Japan citizens formed networks to privately MAP radiation hotspots. By this mechanism, they highlighted Japanese government deliberate misrepresentations and various mistakes.

A similar thing can be done with patient medical records and the personal stories. Some things don’t jump out from the public health statistics and retrospective studies. So such a private registry would be a treasure trove of data.

      Sincerely,

      Bill Duff

  4. This blog has taken a very sensationalist turn. I thought it would be more newsworthy to report that over half the fuelehas now been removed from unit 4 fuel pool, but apparently Lori gets more money if he writes about diseases.

    1. Diseases will increase, there will be NOVEL diseases, genetic mutations in Man, animal and plants, there is much suffering to come, future generations will be affected, water and food contaminated, radiation will continue leading to ever more health problems to the point that Japan will become uninhabitable.
All this has been anounced since the beginning of the enormous nuclear disaster that will go on, given that is is out of control. This is the dire TRUTH nobody can deny.
      more information on htp://attentiondanger.over-blog.com
      Blessings to all !

  5. Lori reports the actual situation, not sensationalism. Niall, your comments are offbase towards this blog. Trying to get spantatistics in Japan is useless as people want to hide the diseases (tained genetrics-similar to Germany when we lived there) –and the Japanese goverment has made many people fearful of breaking the “harmful rumors” laws as well as hiding radiation levels. And of course other major countries dont want to upset the ‘apple cart.’ Did find stats in California for 2012 with a 40% increase in children with thyroid cancer..of course the cause was considered flamable material used for PJs…but 40% in California. Forget causes in these cases, 40% in California. I hate to think of what Japan’s increase is,….those kids wear PJs too (sarcasm).

  6. statistics..sorry, my cataracts make vision poor for proof reading. My cataracts are caused from two years of high radiation exposure from what I understand. OR ?? They happened suddenly, a marker of rad caused lense damage. And they have been corrected, but now I have POST-surgery cataracts and need more surgery. Not whining but others have this issue as well..wonder how many cataract surgerys in Japan? An increase?

  7. This morning I had a headache. Must be fukushima radiation reaching this far. Number of people googling ‘radiation headache’ has increased, and someone on twitter has cancer.

    1. It is unlikely that Niall suffers from any radiation-related maladies.

Perhaps one consideration, in the differential diagnosis, is congenitalis Treponema pallidum, which especially in its later stages, can have numerous and complex manifestations and may resemble a number of other diseases.

  8. Studio apartment in Manhattan – $ 5 million + for some Russian/Saudi oligarch to park his money

People going on Fukushima Diary and claiming that it’s sensationalism to question the normality of a 16 year old athlete coming down with acute leukemia (the kind linked to fallout) in the country that just HAPPENS to be undergoing the worst nuclear crisis in history, JUST IN THE PAST 3 YEARS:

No, this isn’t priceless. It’s going to cost a lot more than $ 5 million to fix that kind brain damage.

  9. Naill, are you paid by TEPCO? A troll for nuclear..not to throw stones, but some of your comments seem off base. Walk in shoes of those with issues caused by radiation..have your daughters have thyroid cancers, or die fro birthdefects..have artritis..have cataracts..then tell me its fine. So far. between birth defects and cancers and other health issues we have a 100% problem. I hope you face the same if that is what it takes to learn.

    1. Here is a very brief primer on the mindset displayed by the demented opponent.

Note the habit of attacking others long after stories have left the lime light. There seems a genuine need to get the last word.

Also note how he cannot seem to grasp that i am a real person. Are you real to him, JEC?

Dementia can include being “not able to think clearly or to understand what is real and what is not real” according to mariam webster’s dictionary.

  10. By the way, its MY daughters, with cancer and who have died. My health and family..how is your family doing?

    Occam’s Razor – http math ucr edu/ (home/baez/physics/General/occam) html — http www Princeton edu/ (~achaney/tmve/wiki100k/docs/Occam_s_razor) html

Occam’s (or Ockham’s) razor is a principle attributed to the 14th century logician and Franciscan friar Father William of Ockham. Ockham was the village in the English county of Surrey where he was born. The principle states that “Entities should not be multiplied unnecessarily.” Sometimes it is quoted in one of its original Latin forms to give it an air of authenticity: “Pluralitas non est ponenda sine neccesitate”, “Frustra fit per plura quod potest fieri per pauciora” & “Entia non sunt multiplicanda praeter necessitatem”

Many scientists have adopted or reinvented Occam’s Razor, as in Leibniz’s “identity of observables” and Isaac Newton stated the rule: “We are to admit no more causes of natural things than such as are both true and sufficient to explain their appearances.” It is also named: lex parsimoniae (translating to the law of parsimony, law of economy or law of succinctness). The most useful statement of the principle for scientists is: “when you have two competing theories that make exactly the same predictions, the simpler one is the better.” In physics we use the razor to shave away metaphysical concepts.

“When you have two competing theories that make exactly the same predictions, the simpler one is (usually) the better.”

    1. Well here’s a competing theory. We’re dumping chemical pollution into the pacific, clogging it with microscopic particles of plastic, increasing it’s acidity through CO2 and over fishing it to death.

Since the pacific was dying before fukushima happened. We can conclude that this is a better hypothesis than fukushima radiation.

Oh, and in honor of Niall I’ll say,” Mr Bill Duff posts the same thing in multiple threads”

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
