[Video] 10 μSv/h in front of Minamisoma city hall after decontamination, "cyanobacteria is increasing"

Mr. Oyama, Minamisoma city councilor reported the radiation measurement in front of Minamisoma city hall.

The measuring date is 6/8/2013. The reading was 8 ~ 10 μSv/h.

The area covered with dust and the “black substance” cyanobacteria is not blockaded.

Assistant professor, Koide from kyoto university analysed the sediment last year. The reading was 500,000 Bq/Kg.

According to Mr. Oyama, the dose increased since last year. The Cs-134/137 level may be 1,000,000 Bq/Kg.

Japanese can stay as long as they need without visa and any equivalent certificate in Svalbard island (North of Norway). They can come and stay with no legal restriction. In order to research the place, proper equipment is necessary.

Selon M. Oyama, la dose a augmenté depuis l’an dernier. Le niveau de Cs 134/137 est sans doute à 1 000 000 Bq/kg.

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
