[Column] Crisis in NYC

In Bulgaria, they said Romania is dangerous, I shouldn’t go. Actually it isn’t.
In Romania, they said things are very cheap in Bulgaria, and actually they aren’t.
Outside of America, they said American people are so arrogant and actually they aren’t.
In everywhere, they say Japan is so safe and the government is very honest and sincere. Actually It isn’t.

Some people live in the old memory that is not the reality anymore.

The bullet train is coming to the valley soon. The bullet train is called “Japan”.
However, there’s no bridge over the valley yet. Passengers are eating and sleeping. The indulged people say, someone would make a bridge somehow. Japan is the country of technology.
When the train was passing the soft grass field, I got off the train from the window. Fortunately I wasn’t injured so much.
Me and other people are running beside the train by truck so passengers can jump to the carriers.

It’s been the bumping road.

One crisis was in October. I was in NYC. I joined the rally, met a lot of big names of anti-nuclear world such as nuclear expert. Arnie Gundersen etc.. but it was because of my achievement before that time, nothing was promised after that. (though still nothing’s promised.) Because of my constant moving, I couldn’t spend much time on research and articles decreased.
It was affecting the site traffic and donation.
Life in NYC costs. Though I was hosted by my friends sometimes, still it cost to move, eat, and “breathe”. Also, people were starting to forget about Fukushima accident.
Nothing had even started. It’s going to be the 24,000 years fight. I had to keep the international attention to Japan and Fukushima.

I found a place to stay in Brooklyn by airbnb. I was staying in a shared space. It was a renovated factory, has kitchen, shower, and 5 rooms for guests, which was a nice place and cheaper than a hotel.
At a shared table, I was literally holding my head by my own hands. Traffic is slow, sources are weak, things were going worse in Japan but they are not what I was supposed to write about on Fukushima Diary. After leaving America, I might be dying on the street. but I shouldn’t be begging. It damages my own credibility and it was my own fault. It was predictable that the continuous moving would kill my blogging.

From over the table, another guest came to me and said It’s gona be alright.

I don’t know why he did it. He was a circus performer. He had a circus group -he and his wife. They came to NY to show their performance to high school students and were staying in the accommodation for a while. Maybe they were not the best-off. He worked for tele-marketing on computer every morning too. While he was working on computer, his wife was massaging his back tried after the performance.
They functioned as one person and it surprised me. They made me believe in the humanity.

He told me it’s gona be ok, and left for the performance. It was just one word, but I felt like it was really gona be alright. His word had the reality and that’s what I was looking for.

After the performance, they came back and watched some movie on ipad. I winked my eye and went to sleep.

American are not arrogant. People are beautiful. I wasn’t over.

The truth touched me. I was lucky.

Rien n’a même commencé.

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
