The Forestry Agency, “Internal exposure dose of cedar pollen is 0.206 μSv”

 

On 2/12/2013, Fukushima Diary reported “90,500 Bq/Kg of cesium from the pollen of Japanese cedar in Fukushima” [URL]

The forestry agency announced the internal exposure dose would be 0.206μSv on the assumption that a person breathes the 90,500 Bq/Kg level of pollen for 4 months in the highest density.

It is the same level of the dose when you are outside for 4 hours in Shinjuku Tokyo, which is not harmful.

However, it is pointless to compare the internal exposure and the external exposure. Also, the internal exposure effect must differ from ages and sex etc..
The specific calculation is not announced.

They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
