Prenatal diagnosis to detect down’s syndrome and trisomy 13&18 to be introduced in Japan this April

On 8/29/2012, Fukushima Diary reported “New technology of prenatal diagnosis to control down’s syndrome will be introduced in Japan” [URL]

On 3/9/2013, Japan Soc. of Obstetrics and Gynecology announced the prenatal test will actually be introduced in Japan as of this April.

The Japanese Association of Medical Sciences is going to give approval to the facilities to introduce the test.

The investigative commission belonging to the Japanese Association of Medical Sciences to give approval was founded on 4/1/2011, just after 311.

This test covers down’s syndrome (trisomy 21), trisomy 13 and 18.

About these genomic mutations, “Chernobyl: Consequences of the Catastrophe for People and the Environment by Alexey V. Yablokov et al [URL 2]” reads this below (P71~) Genomic Mutations

Trisomies of chromosomes 13, 18, and 21, which are genomic mutations showing change in the number of chromosomes, have been found in the contaminated territories.

A propos de ces mutations génétiques, dans “Chernobyl: Consequences of the Catastrophe for People and the Environment by Alexey V. Yablokov et al” on peut lire ceci (p. 71~) : Mutations du génome

Les trisomies des chromosomes 13, 18, et 21, qui sont des mutations du génome présentant un changement du nombre des chromosomes, ont été relevées dans les territoires contaminés.

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
