[Column] Stone

After all, I finally got my room. It’s not a rental apartment, it’s for a renewable contract.
Theoretically, I can stay here as long as I want. It has just one room but I have my own shower and toilet, 10 mins to the center of city for less than 1/3 rent of where I used to live in Japan. I think it’s a good deal.
I’ll stay here for a while.
There are still thousands of the children and adults left in their mother land with potential cancer. I’m famous for not having fun from my trip. but I think it’d be psychopath if I can enjoy whatsoever by ignoring all the people left behind.

What’s more, some people are even going there. What should I / we do to them ?
This is entirely because of the media black out.
Even when they cover it, it’s becoming the ritual to say, it’s the low level of contamination, the yearly dose is even lower than Brazil or NY or etc..
As you readers already know, this is full of manipulation.

I always explain what matters to go there, such as cyanobacteria, food contamination, air contamination, potential blast etc..
They always say, ok, understood, I’ll take extra care about those things.

but I know they get full of seafood, untested rice and green tea soon as they land.
It’s all up to their free will, we can’t do anything.
Stone shows you the way to go, but it doesn’t move even if you dare to ignore it.
I wish I could be as still as a stone.

About this site

This website updates the latest news about the Fukushima nuclear plant and also archives the past news from 2011. Because it's always updated and added live, articles, categories and the tags are not necessarily fitted in the latest format.
I am the writer of this website. About page remains in 2014. This is because my memory about 311 was clearer than now, 2023, and I think it can have a historical value. Now I'm living in Romania with 3 cats as an independent data scientist.
Actually, nothing has progressed in the plant since 2011. We still don't even know what is going on inside. They must keep cooling the crippled reactors by water, but additionally groundwater keeps flowing into the reactor buildings from the broken parts. This is why highly contaminated water is always produced more than it can circulate. Tepco is planning to officially discharge this water to the Pacific but Tritium is still remaining in it. They dilute this with seawater so that it is legally safe, but scientifically the same amount of radioactive tritium is contained. They say it is safe to discharge, but none of them have drunk it.
