Exactly what is this “black substance”? I know no Japanese, but went to your source and see two different scans of test results, but both look idnetical. I do not know what the translation is above each scan so could you please translate. I am wondering if these two test resluts are of different samples and resluted in the same reading or if it is just a repeat of one sample test. Also if you know anything about this substance, if it is alive? A mold or fungus possibly? thank you.
Looks like it’s Cesium 134 and Cesium 137 [radioactive metals formed from fission reaction], mixed in with carbon soot from the fires of the reactors.
Cesium is biologically significant as it can stay in the body once ingested for a relatively long period of time.
These levels are not high enough to cause ‘acute radiation sickness’, but these levels of radiation generated in close proximity to human cells will certainly cause statistically significant increases in mutations leading to cancer and general cell damage.
People exposed to these pollutants are at increased risk to develop cancer.
Dear Mochizuki-sama,
How about a table in the right column of your site that displays the danger thresholds of all the different radiation measurements.
I see all the numbers in your articles but can’t tell the gravity of it.
Something like:
< 100,000 Bq/Kg = Immediate danger
Just an idea.
Regards,
Chris
So with this evidence, all the people have been evacuated and immediate decontamination research will be carried out to check if it is a reality for citizens to return?
I wish this was a science fiction movie. If it were some brilliant scientists would find a miracle solution for the problem,it would go away and everyone would live hapily ever after. Unfortunately this is realty, there is no miracle solution and millions of peole will become ill and many will die.
Agreed. Sadly the reality everyone is being kept in the dark to save the economy by not causing a “panic”. Panic is being the worst thing for those in power of course.
That’s 142 miles from the Fukushima reactor. I’d call that pretty serious radiation exposure for such a long disance.
Are there reports of the same black substance closer to the reactor? If so, what are the readings?
