Huge protest is held every Friday in Tokyo against the restart of Ohi nuclear plant.
Government is trying to control it by having police and riot police blockade the streets, but they haven’t found the solution yet.
An executive of police revealed that official residence planned to ban subway from stopping at the near station.
Most of the people join the protest by using subway.
The executive talks “Official from official residence have asked me if we can ban subway from stopping at the near subway station so protestors can’t gather. They were serious about that idea. I was shocked.”
Noda planned to meet the organizers of the protest on 8/8/2012, but it was postponed until 8/10/2012 because No-confidence resolution in the Cabinet was submit by opposition party. [Link]

Clueless in Kantei! The demonstrators are out there every Friday because the government has failed to listen to the voice of the Japanese people, 70% of whom do not want nuclear power! Preventing the subway from stopping near the Kantei would be just one more way of telling the Japanese people that the government doesn’t care about their opinion. Doing so would move the DPJ doomsday clock a few minutes closer to midnight. So go ahead. Make my day.
The next step is for the Govt to shut down cell phones and twitter feeds within a few KM of the residence.
