Tepco hasn’t filtered Strontium

Tepco has been purifying contaminated water of the plant coolant system.
However, Tepco announced they will introduce a new purifying system for strontium after September, which means they only filtered out cesium.
With this new system, they are supposed to decrease strontium 1 in 10 million.
The current strontium amount in the contaminated water is no announced.

so I’m assuming the official who drank the purified Fukushima coolant water in that press conference is… wondering why someone didn’t tip him off a little earlier? (ah, perhaps he just acted nervous and it was really Fuji water)

If I remember correctly, the AREVA system did filter Cesium, Strontium, Iodine, and other stuff. Not to say that Areva is great or anything, but it’s probably the only/first time we can say that it’s the lesser of two evils.

Seriously, radioactive strontium is dangerous stuff, much more than cesium. The same way that iodine goes for the thyroid, strontium goes for the bones, instead of calcium… see who’s footing the bill again: the next generation. When they are old enough to complain, who will be left to blame ?

They admit the “filtered” water still has Strontium in it. What about Plutonium and Uranium? Yet they still want to dump it in the Pacific Ocean.I live half way across the planet and this will still affect me and my loved ones eventually. It will spread all over the world. This is a crime against humanity.
